Overview

Jordan, the jewel of the Middle East, is a young country full of ancient sites and exciting history. Location

Jordan Located in the Middle Eastern kingdom, Southwestern Asia, bordering Saudi Arabia in the south and east, Syria and Iraq in the north. In the west Israel and Palestine (including the West Bank of the Jordan River). The country has an area of 89,213 square kilometers (34,445 square miles) and a coastline of only 26 kilometers (16 miles) along the Gulf of Aqaba in the south. Jordan shares its longest border with Saudi Arabia, some 728 kilometers (452 miles). Amman, Jordan’s capital is located in the northwest of the country.

 

Climate

Jordan has a Mediterranean climate that allows for travel throughout the year. However, the weather can vary during each season throughout the country. The major characteristic of the climate is the contrast between a relatively rainy season from November to April and very dry weather for the rest of the year.
